Obviously very 2012 look-alike for a single event, but combine it with an alien invasion event then you got the Rock turning into an Incredible Afro-Samoan Hulk Rescueman saving the mega-important survivors ie wife, daughter and just-got-acquainted 2 English friends.
Taking on badass aliens that predict San Andreas earthquake would save a lot of alien deaths and alien military infrastructure, but these aliens can be morons if too one-trackminded on US military, and not the helicopter rescuer.
Never mind. Better plot luck next time if there is another incident ::
