Review of San Andreas (2015) by Moviemew _ — 25 Feb 2018
Let's face it: disaster movies are bound to be cringy.
While special effects are realistic - or at least as far as such a term is applicable for this kind of scenario - the "San Andreas" plotline just doesn't cut it. It loses the little credibility it's established during the first half of its runtime by first having the protagonist family reunite in the most implausible way possible (e.g. by crashing two aircrafts and surfing a tsunami), after which a 5-minute-deceased drowning victim is resurrected as to have the movie end on a positive, inspirational, patriotic note.
If I were to sum up "San Andreas": it's a mix of fearful stares, chaos simulations and Alexandra Daddario's boobs. Terrible.
