Review of Samurai I: Musashi Miyamoto (1954) by Christopher A — 31 Mar 2016
Amazing movie. This has to be one of my all-time favorite trilogies. Ikuma Dan does an magnificent job on a very moving sound-track, Toshiro Mifune was absolutely stellar as Musashi Miyamoto, and the cinematography was breathtaking.
Also, I don't know if I am just over analyzing, but I believe at least one symbol persists throughout the movie: the lead's relationship with Otsu seems to be consistently associated with water.
