Review of Salvador (1986) by Jacqueline W. L — 12 Apr 2008
It feels like another Apocalypse Now. I mean, every "conscious" American would behave or think like that. I feel sorry that I don't know the background history to understand Salvador more.
But just like what I feel for Apocalypse Now, I don't really like this. It feels like a masturbation to me, a way to relieve American's guilt for doing some bad things to other people/countries.
Though it is a true-hearted story that I won't deny. You can see it from the cruel rape scene and the majestic ending. I just can't love it. And I always don't love movies about wars and heros, though I know it's not about hero and it's not the typical war movie.
just...
