A great Marxist Alert film! A striking feminist film as well a social comment on race and class in American society. Some of the images of the female lead are iconic. Reminded me of Mother India. Disturbingly, the cops are strangely excited when beating the men? Watch the scene in the police car again if you don't believe me.
