Review of Salmon Fishing in the Yemen (2012) by Antonio A — 16 Jul 2012
Despite some terrible plot points and unnecessary characters, the film keeps afloat thanks to lovely performances by the ever-luminous, always dependable Emily Blunt and Ewan McGregor. The first half is much more solid than the second one, and when the film focuses theres a nice, warm tone to it that helps us move through the more uninspired sections.
In the end, even though it is a mixed bag and at times frustrating, theres enough good to worth a watch.
