Review of Salinger (2013) by Dwight O — 19 Sep 2013
The documentary was two hours but it held my attention. Interesting how "damage to one's innocence" began to be Salinger's recurring theme after WWII. He was a writer who was living every writers dream -- when he chose to walk away from it all.
The voice of his novel "Catcher" was groundbreaking for its time, irresistible to readers of all ages. Fascinating. I definitely came away from the film with a deeper knowledge of the man. And why he walked away from the recognition he seemed to be seeking.
