Review of Salinger (2013) by M S — 31 Oct 2013
Like many, Cather in the Rye is a text I am very passionate about. Strangely enough I consider it my favorite book, however I have yet to finish it. Salinger captivated and touched many and with this film you get a glimpse at his life painted in a very sympathetic lens. If you were looking for something overly critical then this isn't the film for you.
I knew very little of Salinger prior to seeing this and thus, have learned a great deal about him. I am now eagerly awaiting the new stories the film promises. As far as film/documentary quality it's not the best I have seen but it is decently crafted. If you are a fan of Salinger, take a peek at this. If you are a fan of documentaries and could care less about the man (how do you exist???) then you probably could skip this and feel comfortable.
