Review of Salesman (1969) by Cheating T — 01 Feb 2008
"Salesman" depicts selling as an alienating and absurd act - this is both a funny and profoundly depressing film. Yet, despite the strangely anachronistic world these Bible salesman inhabit, in the end you empathize rather than judge, in part because the Maysles' brothers are more concerned with the people they are filming than an ideology.
