Review of Saints and Soldiers (2003) by Amy S — 22 Aug 2004

I just saw this tonight, and it moved me very much. It showed that both sides during the war had soldiers who were good and bad. It showed that the enemies really are like ourselves, but they have different uniforms.

I thought the movie did a very good job at portraying that soldiers were more then just a number, or a figure on paper, they were actual people. The ending was very moving. I would highly recommend this movie.

There is not much blood and guts and gore either. I was expecting, due to the subject, that the movie would have more depictions of gore, but I was pleasantly suprised when it had very "clean" shots of the injured men.

Very good movie.
