Review of Saints and Soldiers (2003) by Alicia R — 26 Oct 2006
This was NOT what I expected at all. The acting was fantastic, the shooting scenes are as good as any big budget war film I have seen (most of them).
The acting here, especially by Deacon's character is just phenominal. The rest of the cast do a great job backing him up. I found it weird that there was slight scenes of horror, it wasn't what I was expecitng at all.
Ryan Little's directing is just so realistic and just captures the feeling of an already over-used setting. The idea of an army behind enemy lines has been used a lot but it was used he brilliantly.
Overall a great war film, full of suprisingly great performances. It doesn't have a re-watchability factor but I thought it was great for a low budget film.
