Review of Saints and Soldiers (2003) by Benjamin F — 01 Nov 2007
I am a sucker for war films, especially WWII films. This is no Private Ryan or Band of Brothers, but it was still great. The war seemed very small and in your face in this movie, which I liked - gave a different feel from the gigantic battles in Private Ryan.
I know people say its an LDS film, but really, there wasn't any overtly mormon reference in the whole thing. The film also makes you think about the goodness of humanity, and the juxtaposition of faith and atheism.
Great movie. (I was surprised that this was only PG-13, it is pretty violent).
