Review of Saints and Soldiers (2003) by Steve R — 11 Jun 2009
From the initial scenes of German soldiers massacring American POW's you may think that this was going to be the black and white scenario of Americans are good and Germans are bad. The beauty is it evolves into ever changing shades of gray.
I enjoyed how the cinematographer captured what winter there was like. I was getting goose bumps, and it is seventy degrees here. This is not a non-stop guns and bombs type of movie. It is a well wrought tale that draws the viewer into the horrors of war.
