Review of Saints and Soldiers (2003) by Tracey A — 01 Jan 2010
Very good movie. The depiction of the main characters felt surprisingly personal and haunting. The movie captivates the horrors of war, but also shows the shared human side of the soldiers - the americans, brits, and germans - who suffer guilt from killing, and the fear of dying - of the unknown.
The fear of death, the futility of war, and the question of whether God exists or not is a major theme that runs through the duration of the film.
