Review of Saints and Soldiers (2003) by Jennie R — 20 Feb 2011
Not a bad film at all. Likeable characters and a good solid story. Was surprised to see in the credits that it was filmed in Utah. I would have never guessed. I was convinced that they were somewhere in Europe.
The film should have interpreted what the German soldiers were saying in the film. While I understood what was being spoken, some of it needed to be relayed to the audience. It gives a feeling that you are missing something in the scenes.
Also, I was dismayed that there was no end blurb about the survivors or the accomplishment of getting the vital information to the Americans. It gave an unfinished feeling to the film. Based on actual events, so watch this & get a little history lesson :).
