Review of Saint (1997) by Richard J — 24 Jun 2010
"The Saint" is like a combination of James Bond and Mission Impossible, that takes the worst of each and spins its tires. Hensleigh surprisingly can't seem to put together enough action to keep it interesting, but maybe it's because the setting is so compelling.
Kilmer is very hot/ cold in this film, as his accents are uninspired and disguises are cartoony. (I also thought his best movie spy work was in the film "Top Secret" where he dressed up as a cow.
) Elisabeth Shue is a nice lead actress, but that's about all that flies in a film that should probably be called "The A'int".
