Review of Safety Not Guaranteed (2012) by Userper — 22 Aug 2020
I really enjoyed this movie because it hits on a few points of our humanity and how a little bit of wonder can go a long way. But it also shows how easy it is to replace wonder and oddity with knowledge or seeing is believing.
I think a lot of people are stuck in the mindset of the character Jake plays when he’s telling his high school fling about his life and he uses his Escalade and condo to describe his life. Then she asks ok but how’s your life been and he says what are you talking about I just told you.
It’s so easy for us to get caught up in this materialistic life style that we forgot life is about experiences not objects. Anyways it’s a good emotional and funny movie.
