We seem to be inundated with films about spies being double crossed and running for their lives. Safe House is more of the same but slightly different in that Reynolds has to deliver wanted traitor Washington to the CIA, whilst being pursued by unknown assailants.
Safe House delivers well and I did enjoy it I must say. The end set piece is a bit of a disappointment and so is the final scene. Clearly no one knew how to end this properly and what you get is a turgid lack lustre piece that doesn't really do the rest of the film justice.
