Review of Safe House (2012) by Joey B — 27 Dec 2012
Safe House is so well acted by both Ryan Reynolds and Denzel Washington, that it's a shame the film is nothing more than a Bourne knock-off, laughably so; the whole double-crossing-guy-on-the-inside thing has been done to death. There's the usual manic car chases, the fast edited fight scenes, a "what's on the secret file" storyline and the ending of the film is such a blatant lift from The Bourne Identity's finale, it's shameful.
I'll never give up on Reynolds - not since he shone in both Buried and The Nines - but he is absolutely better than this.
