Review of Safe Haven (2013) by Rick V — 13 Sep 2013
Not a bad movie! Julianne Hough is one fine actress and I would not be opposed to watching her star in more movies. She and the other main character provide a convincing romance as they get to know each other, after Katie moves to town.
What makes this movie a sort of crime thriller is the fact that Katie is on the run from her husband who tried to assault her a while back. He claims that she is a murderer and as a cop he is trying to track her down.
The final confrontation between Katie and her husband is somewhat bizarre as is the plot twist at the very end of the movie with the character Jo. I was not a big fan of having Cobie from how I Met your mother starring in this movie.
But when you put all of these bizarre elements aside, the film offers a Hopeful glimpse at what the perfect romance could be and definitely painted a picture for what I would like my family to be like.
