Review of Safe (1995) by Nguyen Thuy H — 10 Oct 2013
I could have never imagined myself to be possessed by this film totally, but there it goes. I have not stopped thinking about it ever since my viewing. The more I think about it, the sadder I realize it is.
The title alone is enough to evoke a mesh of feelings inside me, which I don't want to discuss -- which is ironic, considering how cold and detached Safe is. But I guess that's the kind of thing that a great film is able to achieve.
