Review of Safe (1995) by Rory P — 14 Apr 2015
Ambiguous and slow, Safe is a nice period piece drama about a housewife's health deteriorating due to the toxins in her everyday life. But is her increasing stress and suffering on account of her surroundings or herself? Julianne Moore is wonderful in the lead role, and the camera likes to pan and slowly suck you in.
Its unending may turn some viewers off, but this is an interesting film from director Todd Haynes.
