Review of Safe (1995) by Jacob Z — 17 Jun 2006
Elizabethtown- 4/10- Poorly acted, cheesy, and formulaic.
Breakfast on Pluto- 7/10- Murphy is great in this whimsical, bittersweet, and quiet tale of a transvestite looking for his mother.
The New World- 7/10- Beautifully filmed, though not particularly compelling, historical drama.
Breaking the Waves- 8/10- Possibly Trier's best film, Watson is amazing, and the film is gut wrenching yet beautiful. Hated the final shot, though.
.
Safe- 6/10- A creepy slow-burner, with a wonderful performance by Julianne Moore..
