Review of Sadgati (1981) by Peter H — 15 Aug 2010
A little overrated. It's a very good adaption of the book despite being confined to 109 minutes. All four characters are well done and fleshed out. The story of four guys going on a canoeing trip and playing the banjo seems light at first, but the movie quickly turns disturbing while remaining realistic.
It's a pretty masculine movie too; there's almost no women in it. The ending is strange. The movie just sort of ends without any major climax. But then again, that's sort of the point.
