Review of Sadgati (1981) by Camille L — 24 Mar 2012
John Boorman's Deliverance is a scary and horrifying story about some of the last remaining untouched nature that is even better if they get rid of it all, instead of glorifying it. It's the story about four best friends from Atlanta who decides to go rafting down a river in the remote North Georgian wilderness, which is soon to be flooded because of construction of a bigger dam. But they discover that the nature is so untouched that the inhabited is the same as they were one hundred year ago. It's worse than the wild west, and our friends are gonna experience this the tough way.
Deliverance is good film where we don't actually see the point of questioning moral while they are right in the middle of gods nature. And there's specially one indelicate scene which have been a part of the pop culture stereotypes on redneck mountain mans. And that scene is something we as an audience just like the characters in the movie want to forget all about. We can ask our self the question how will their lives become afterwords. Something we can just imagine us, while a sequel wouldn't been a bad idea after my opinion. Thumbs up.
