Review of Sadgati (1981) by Garrett C — 23 Oct 2014
I have somewhat of a bias, seeing that this film has dished out an incalculably wide-reaching disservice to Southern people and the way they're viewed nationwide. It furthered the stereotype of rural Southerners as being backwards, inbred, mindless, toothless, pig fetishizing rapists.
On the other hand, the film does successfully stay entertaining and riveting. The second half is especially intense. I would have liked the film more if it had a better ending that that could lend an overall meaning to this story.
Unfortunately it never really goes anywhere and means nothing.
