Review of Sadgati (1981) by Luigi T — 23 Jun 2015
Wow, this was disappointing. Granted, I saw Irreversible right before watching this, and I should have realized that Deliverance's oh-so-notorious male rape scene was going to look laughable next to what Monica Belluci's character went through in Gaspar Noe's film thirty years later, but honestly that wasn't even what really disappointed me about Deliverance.
(Not that a rape scene is something that anyone should ever say "disappointed" them.) That would have to be how aimless it all felt. Give me Aguirre, the Wrath of God when I want a movie about drifting on a river.
