Review of Saboteur (1942) by Josh S — 11 Jul 2010
I don't know if Hitchcock had really hit his stride yet with this one. Very political film. Very blatant and obvious, considering this was made right around the time America entered World War II, I could guess the fascist undertones and patriotic metaphor were heavily felt in the 40s.
I just found it really corny. Especially the ending. But, like any Hitchcock film, the camera work is absolutely amazing. Some great shots. But definite shlock at points.
