Review of Ryan's Daughter (1970) by Private U — 22 Nov 2007
A film to admire at the time and patience acquired to get every shot perfect. Lean didn't make another film for 14 years after this film, the experience of making it was too much for him, plus the fact that the critics panned it for all the wrong reasons.
The same critics are most likely hailing it as a masterpiece now and pineing for those old fashioned, real movies about charcters again.
