Review of Rust and Bone (2012) by Martin P — 10 Nov 2012
Fabulous. On limited release (again. Why?) so catch it while you can at the cinema. Two strong performances, great cinematography and score. The neglected son is underused as is the sister until her pivotal scene three quarters of the way through.
Weak ambiguous ending loses a star. Same director as The Prophet - didn't realise until the opening credits were running. Compares favourably but not quite there due to weaker characterisation.
