4 out of 5 stars. One of the best films of the year. An unusual and modern love story that is at once both brutal and beautiful. Jacques Audiard ("A Prophet") is a world class filmmaker and Marion Cotillard is great as always.
The music by Alexandre Desplat, with modern tracks added, gives a vibrant counterpart to the story of 2 damaged people trying to make it in life.
