Review of Rust and Bone (2012) by Joel D — 23 Jan 2013
Despite being a well made film with great performances and an amazing soundtrack the script lets it all down by ignoring character faults, interweaving two stories which really should have remained separate judging by our leading mans uncaring attitude to it all and by rushing the films climax, forcing it to become a meaningless last ditch attempt at delivering a happy conclusion while still owing to the failures of the past.
It's a fantastic example of a film which has the ambition to become so much more than what it was yet is held back miles by an undeveloped screenplay.
