Review of Rust and Bone (2012) by Steve W — 10 Jul 2013
Rust and Bone is a sombre love story/drama with great acting. A marine animal trainer loses her legs in a terrible accident, and slowly begins a weird relationship with a single father/ex-boxer/bouncer/fighter/surveillance stooge.
The story is slow and there is some excellent special effects for Marion Cotillard's stubs, but its staunched pacing and tone make it awkward at times. The ending was a bit off as well, coming out of left field.
