Review of Rust and Bone (2012) by Ws W — 30 Aug 2013
Rust and Bone goes down as a bit of a disappointment. There is no doubting the talents of Marion Cotillard and whenever her character is at the centre of the plot this film is quite remarkable. However Mattias Schoenaerts', Ali shares way too much screen time and his character is neither as likeable, nor is he as compelling.
Intouchables is another recent film which deals with a similar topic in a much more life affirming manner.
