Review of Russian Dolls (2005) by Silvia, Alfred, Catherine, & — 12 Feb 2007
Ok, I didn't see l'Auberge Espagnole, but I know I liked this one. When I say liked, I mean: Not mad about it, but I found it quite good. The kind of movie you enjoy the first time, but wouldn't watch again.
The cast is of course, amazing (Romain Duris, Audrey Tautou, Kevin Bishop but mainly Kelly Reilly) but the movie itself... Well, there was nice character development, funny bits here and there, very very good direction, with Xavier's point of view and some of his thoughts shown inside the "real-life" and all but (it was coming, there is a but) there was too much unnecessary nudity and it sometimes gets plain boring.
Overall, I wouldn't say I regret seeing it, but I definitely could have died in peace without it. I mean, it didn't deserve its place on "Must see before I die".
