Review of Rushmore (1998) by Nathan M — 04 Apr 2011
My favorite Wes Anderson by a hair benefits from having a compelling main character and associated focus. Bolstered by an expectedly peculiar script, Schwartzman is a strong lead, Murray and Williams are solid support.
Rushmore differs from The Royal Tenenbaums in that it has fewer nooks and crannies of small pleasures and more general direction and potency as a result of that direction.
