Review of Rushmore (1998) by Bryan K — 10 Mar 2011
A quirky and original comedy-drama from director/co-writer Wes Anderson and co-writer Owen Wilson. Starts out promising (with an intelligent and engaging debut performance from Jason Schwartzman, and a brilliant club montage with an equally engaging soundtrack), then becomes almost too rebellious, then something of a redeeming conclusion.
Problematic in ways, but still engaging and original. Murray and Williams are perfect as well.
