(1998) Rushmore.
DRAMA/ COMEDY.
Totally overrated film if by looking at the general surface of this film about a delusional 18 year old who assumes to be Mr. Right for a much older female instructor whose attempts to gain her affection, with Bill Murry as the person who he's competing with! The problem- this does not happen in real life! Students do have crushes with their instructors but not as oddly, predictable and extremely "embarrassingly" as this character played by Jason Swartzman! The female who the Jason character was supposed to have the affection for is one -note or one- dimensional who has so many options to avoid this or to prevent this from becoming more serious than it already was results in lacking credibility for the actions she does take- can someone say restraining order! I really cringed while watching this which doesn't make any general sense for a pitiful stalker!
