Review of Rush Hour (1941) by Eric S — 16 Apr 2011
There are 3 Rush Hour, and all of them was directed by Brett Ratner, and, talking about Rush Hour 1, the actors are, mainly, Jackie Chan and Chris Jucker (other actors: Tom Wilkinson, Ken Leung and others). Rush Hour 1 was released in 1998, Rush Hour 2 in 2001 and the Rush Hour 3 in 2007.
It is a comedy and action movie which a group of mobsters led by Juntao try to smuggle important Chinese culture pieces abroad, but they are prevented by the Inspector Lee (Jackie Chan). Consul Han (Tzi Ma), which was already an old friend of Lee, will reside in Los Angeles, as a Chinese diplomat. There, Juntao plans revenge and kidnaps the daughter of the consul. But he doesnâ(TM)t trust in FBI, than he called the Inspector Lee to help in the mission and tries to rescue his daughter. The LAPD believes that foreign aid would harm the investigation, and then they designate the detective James Carter (Chris Tucker) to accompany Lee on the mission. But the real intention of the FBI is try to remove Lee of the case, with the help of Carter, but he didnâ(TM)t know that. When Carter discovered the real mission for him he starts to help Lee to find the kidnapped girl. This is Rush Hour 1.
Do you want to know some trivia? :
⢠About 60% of the speeches of Chris Tucker in the film were completely improvised.
⢠The film received a lot of great reviews worldwide, which led to New Line Cinema resolve to invest in a franchise with the same actors from the original film.
⢠The film's budget was $ 35 million, and Rush Hour has raised more than $ 140 million just in the North American box office.
I really recommend this movie to everyone, because it's fun and have a lot of action too. The wrong scenes are also very funny, you canâ(TM)t lose them.
This is such an incredible film, like the Rush Hour 2 and 3.
