Review of Rush: Beyond the Lighted Stage (2010) by Russell G — 29 Jul 2010
I was never a huge Rush fan, but this one gave a bit more appreciation and now I want to revisit some albums. As far as docs go, this is a pretty straight run through of their career. They seem very genuine, but I can't help but think this is the polite version.
No talk of drugs (if they did drugs, who knows?) no talk of Lifson's bust from a few years ago. Ultimately, it doesn't really need any of the dirt since some great live footage makes it a must see for fans, and it's all interesting enough for non-fans too.
