Review of Rush: Beyond the Lighted Stage (2010) by Skyler I — 30 Jun 2011
This is a visually fantastic and accurate documentary on Rush, one of the best bands of all time. The film has, as all good documentaries do, a way of latching on to you and making you watch until the end.
Not much of a surprise, since it's from the guys who brought us such music based stuff as Metal: A Headbangers Journey, Global Metal and Iron Maiden: Flight 666. It's skillfully made and tells a story that it at times inspirational, endearing, humorous and very sad.
Rush got the documentary that they deserved, as it is every bit as inventive and engaging as the band it's about.
