Review of Rush (2013) by Yash B — 21 Feb 2014
Ron Howard's engaging and exhilarating racing drama, "Rush", is nothing short of spectacular. It has everything a great drama needs and enough tension to keep the audience on the edge. Hemsworth and Bruhl give equally great performances in the two leads (and yes they are both leads).
I see potential Oscar nominations in their futures. I also believe that it is always phenomenal how films can make such dislikable characters sympathetic in the end. I must admit that it was slow in the beginning but I can also say the last third had my pulse racing and in mesmerizing suspense.
The film is also very inspiring and has deep messages that I really didn't see coming. This is one of the best pictures of the year and shouldn't be simply labeled as "another racing movie".
This has all the gripping racing scenes and emotional content to make it so much more. In the end, I fully recommend the film to everyone and can guarantee a great time.
