Review of Rush (2013) by Tor M — 30 Mar 2014
A piece of remarkable sport history. A story I never knew much of, and I guess that's favored me before giving this a go.
We follow two very different guys here, both very skilled race car drivers. Their rivalry is lovely portrayed and acted out and both characters are very interesting.
I love the production here. It looks very realistic with a neat 70's style. The editing is flawless and we get great shots here. Some super close-ups, some wider ones, some effect-stuff but its very well put together with great sound as well.
It evolves greatly and it's never flat - a continous ride that you really hang on to. If not just for the acting, it could definetly be an Oscar nominee, but I guess it got snubbed. A brilliant film.
8 out of 10 slicks.
