Review of Rush (2013) by Chris B — 30 Dec 2016
I know there are plenty of people who hear about Rush and think they will not like it because it is about Formula One racing. I am here to tell you that skipping Rush for that reason is a mistake. That would be like skipping Titanic because you don't like boats.
Formula One racing is merely the vehicle that moves the story forward. In truth, Rush is a film with great depth, heart, friendship, and an extremely insightful debate about how we as human beings choose to live our lives.
Should we be willing to risk it all for passion and glory,or make the safe choice and live to see another day? That is the debate that Formula One racers James Hunt and Niki Lauda struggle with in the film.
Rush is truly one of the best films of the year, and I wouldn't be surprised to hear its name called in February at the Oscars.
