Review of Running with Scissors (2006) by Sally S — 22 Feb 2011
Well done but I think I've simply fallen victim to just seeing this movie way too much on Showtime and I always felt that "Augusten" came off too whiny to really feel for him. I don't know the movie started out good but I think as it went on the characters went a little too off to the point where they weren't likable anymore.
..except for Jill Clayburgh's character but that's just me. I should just read Augusten Burrough's book to get a better idea of everything. Overall it was a really good movie and I loved it the first time I saw it and like I said I think I've just seen it so many times.
But great acting and some great sequences but perhaps some misinterpretations from book to movie, I don't know I didn't read the book. This review has gone way too long and I feel like a critic so I'm going to go throw up now.
