Review of Running with Scissors (2006) by Dane A — 10 Feb 2011
Sometimes reading or watching someone's memoir either makes you feel happy that your life is not as messed up as you think it is, or it makes you second guessing the "uniqueness" of your situation.
Being Augusten Borden anf had to go through a phase of living with a weird family, including a foster mother who snacked on dogchow must be quite bizarre. Add that with neurotic "older sister" and weirder father who worked as an even weirder therapist.
But whatever happened in his past helped him to create a one hell of a memoir.
