Review of Runner Runner (2013) by Dan S — 30 Sep 2013
Huge plot hole, if Richie (Timberlake) has gambled all of his money, how cn he afford a plane ticket to Costa Rica? Hmm.. Anyway aside from some plot holes it was OK. In the hands of a different director this could of been made a lot better, we know Timberlake can act (The Social Network, In Time) and Ben Affleck has proven himself since his disastrous career slump (Gigli) with his directorial efforts (Argo, The Town) here they seem to just be doing it for the hell of it.
Gemma Arterton might as well not even be there, her character is about as useful as a blow up dart board. For a thriller there was hardly any thrills and far too many dull moments, 90 minutes felt too long.
Which is always a bad thing. Could've been so much better. Two steps back for both Affleck and Timberlake.... Disappointing.
