Review of Runaway Jury (2003) by Richard A — 06 Apr 2008
Didn't read Grisham's book but this movie is fast paced, edge of your seat entertainment throughout. You get an allstar cast, throw in a court room, a major lawsuit against a gun corporation and you got yourself a flick worth checking out.
Always been a fan of John Cusack in no matter what role he portrays, he's a talented actor. Gene Hackman steals the show as high price fixer hired by corporations and people with power to make sure they get the verdict they want. Little does Hackman know that the power is not entirely in his hands, a miscreant juror played by Cusack has some plans of his own.
This film works because of the many twists, humor, red herrings and overall excitement that is packed into it. Great performances, script, story, its all here.
