Review of Runaway Jury (2003) by Anne O — 29 Aug 2009
I liked the build to questioning all three "parties" motives at the start of this film. It was interesting to hear that this film was originally written to be anti smokng rather than anti guns initially (but another film with the same theme was due for release at the time, so they opted for gun lobies instead of smoking), however the subtle anti smoking motifs were well used.
There were some clever little symbolisms and subtextual moments, like the blind man leading the jury & the statue of justice which is blindfolded outside the court room. Performances were good - an entertaining watch.
