Review of Run Silent, Run Deep (1958) by Woody W — 15 Nov 2007
Excellent cast with Gable and Lancaster in the staring roles; they work well together. The story, much like Moby Dick, has a captain (Gable) in search of his arch nemesis Bungo Pete, taking his unwilling crew to potential death in his quest of revenge.
Good performances by Jack Warden and first time movie performance of Don Rickles.
I'd rate this a little higher, but the special effects were not very good, even for 1958. luckily, they are a very small part of the movie and are not a major distraction; the main focus is the interaction between Clark and Burt.
